Derek performed with the Shaw Festival during the 1971
season. He appeared in the Canadian premiere of “Summer Days”, Noel
Coward’s “Tonight at 8.30” and “War, Women and Other Trivia”. In
Montreal he appeared in the Canadian premier of “House of Blue Leaves”,
again in “Summer Days” and “The Entertainers”. He also appeared for 2
1/2 years in “You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown”. Derek plays guitar and
composes his own songs. His present project is a musical play with the
cast playing the roles of birds – or as Derek puts it, “it’s a satire on
bird brains!”
